A store blog: when it earns the effort and how to write it

An article tied to no product and answering no real question brings nothing.

6 min read

A blog is not a requirement for every store. It becomes useful when your product carries a question that precedes the purchase.

When a blog earns its keep

  • Your product needs explaining before the decision: ingredients, sizing, how to use it.
  • Customers ask you the same questions in every conversation.
  • Your market is competitive and product pages alone are not enough to be found.

Write from customer questions, not topic lists

Open your last month of WhatsApp conversations and extract the repeated questions. Every question asked three times is an article worth writing — and you already know the answer.

Tie every article to a product

An article leading to no product or category page is isolated content. Link naturally within the text, not with a single promotional button at the end.

One good article beats ten weak ones

Search engines do not reward volume. Ten shallow, similar articles compete with each other and weaken your site. One article that answers the question fully outperforms them.

Update rather than repeat

If something changes in an old article, update it instead of writing a new one on the same topic. An updated article keeps its ranking and gains freshness.

Keep the structure clear

Subheadings, lists and short paragraphs. Most reading happens on a phone, and a long block of text is closed before it is read.
