"Abayas" is searched thousands of times a month. "Black crepe abaya 2026 model" is searched dozens. The category page captures the first — and most stores leave it without a word of text.
Build a logical category tree
One category per group people actually search for, not per way products could be divided. A category with three products does not deserve its own page.
Add real category text
A paragraph or two at the top or bottom explaining what the category holds and how to choose within it. Do not stuff keywords — write what genuinely helps someone choose.
Handle filters before they create chaos
Every filter combination produces a URL. Thousands of near-identical URLs consume crawl budget and dilute the page. Configure filters so only combinations with real search demand get indexed.
Order within the page matters
Put your strongest products in the first rows. A visitor who sees a weak product first judges the whole category.
Pagination
If the category spans several pages, make sure the links are crawlable. Loading only via a "show more" button can prevent search engines seeing the rest of your products.
Link categories to each other
From "abayas", link to "summer abayas" and "occasion abayas". Internal links between related categories strengthen each of them.
