First-month mistakes that cost new stores their sales

Six mistakes we see in nearly every new store, all fixable within an hour.

6 min de lecture

Most new stores do not fail because of the product, but because of small details left to last and then forgotten.

1. Launching without a real test purchase

Place a genuine order with your own card, from a phone, through to the confirmation message. The number of stores that discover a payment fault via their first customer is higher than you would think.

2. Missing or copied policy pages

Return, shipping and privacy policies are not regulatory filler — Saudi customers genuinely read them before buying from a store they do not know.

3. Product descriptions copied from the supplier

The same text sitting in ten other stores will not rank you and will not convince anyone. Write at least three original sentences per product.

4. Images at different sizes and backgrounds

An inconsistent catalogue looks unprofessional even when the products are excellent. Standardise aspect ratio and background before uploading.

5. Ignoring mobile

Open your store on your phone, not your desktop. Most of your traffic arrives there, and problems surface on mobile first.

6. No measurement from day one

Pixels and Google Analytics do not collect data retroactively. Every day without tracking is a day of data you cannot get back.
